Veryan  A tranquil village in a lush wooded hollow, best known for its 5 circular 19th century round houses, each topped with a conical thatch and a cross.  Their shape stems from an old tradition that the devil likes to hide and lay in wait in corners!  East of the village lies the fishing village of Portloe and the location for the filming of Mary Wesley's "Camomile Lawn".
